Happy Easter and April Showers - Apr 18, 2025
April Showers
April has been a busy month for the Gamekeepers’ Welfare Trust so far with our AGM on 3rd April down at the GWCT Loddington Visitors Centre and followed by a fantastic fundraiser in East Anglia at Eriswell Lodge and the day after over to the NGO AGM at Heart of England. It is always a privilege to see the long service awards and conservation awards. A proud day for many families, shoots and estates not to mention the NGO itself which host the day. This year along with Trusted Game imparting vital information for the lowground shoots, around a number of topics including Bird Flu updates.

Then to the Stalking Show which was a great success, our stand kindly hosted by the NGO and where we held health checks on Saturday and met many friends, old and new. Thank you so much to all involved but particularly Jo who cheerfully managed the whole weekend and Sue who broke the record with 77 MOT’s on the Saturday!
As I write this blog we are actually experiencing a few showers although it has been a dry month here to date which has been beneficial for wildlife. Lots of nights out with the thermal and concentrating on the crows and magpies which are wreaking havoc if left unchecked.
Thank you to our expanding team of supporters, fundraisers and to you all. We have plans afoot to increase our services, watch this space and meantime check with a mate or two over Easter!
Which brings me to wishing you all a Happy Easter and hoping you can spend a little time with friends and families even if its out and about!
