Traditionally our new season in February marks a new start but a New Year does give us pause to reflect on our own lives and how we wish to live and work in the 21st Century whatever stage of life we find ourselves. There have been some excellent stories of making a difference to individual […]
As I write this note the trees are turning and the swallows on their way South with partridge in every hedgerow and pheasants awandering! Thank you to GWCT for hosting our launch on a sultry day at Scone on Sunday 1st July.
Along with the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust, Scottish Land & Estates, Scottish Gamekeepers Association, British Association of Shooting & Conservation, Scottish Country Sports Association, Moorland Association, National Gamekeepers Organisation and Scottish Countryside Alliance the Gamekeepers’ Welfare Trust launched the Raising the Game Campaign to raise awareness and make a difference in our rural communities on issues that affect everyone but can be exacerbated by isolation, dedication to the job and stoicism.
One key part of this initiative is a training course which was built by Ex Marines through IED Training. We are excited and optimistic that attending this half day course will really help to make a difference, change attitudes and create a mindset which will help dispel those problems which can escalate out of all proportion. Booking is now available and details will be uploaded shortly.
Thank you to everyone involved. Watch this space!
